Award
Not yet. Typical award: Sep 27, 2026 to Mar 15, 2027, middle of the range Dec 15, 2026.
Measured from 23 past early notices at National Aeronautics and Space Administration that later posted an award (middle half of cases, counted from Aug 10, 2026).
Responses are due Aug 10, 2027, so an award before then is unlikely; past cases include short solicitations.

What the notice says

NASAs Technology Transfer Program solicits inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market the following technology. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. THE TECHNOLOGY: Innovators at NASA Johnson Space Center have developed a handheld slide staining system designed to support medical, research or environmental monitoring. Although deployed aboard the International Space Station to work in conjunct… (show all)

ion with NASAs high-powered handheld microscope in the absence of gravity, the system may be applicable to all known staining procedures for terrestrial field and lab microscopes. This novel system is comprised of two primary components which are entirely self-contained when assembled. One component, the dispenser, is designed with an adjustable reagent sponge delivery system that not only serves as a containment unit for fluids, but whose volume allows for multiple uses until the reagents from the dispenser are depleted. The sponges can be replenished with commercial off-the-shelf reagents. The second component, the slide staining device, traps and seals the specimen slide which then receives the titrated reagent from the dispenser. This technology was derived for space-based missions where a specimens return to Earth for rapid microscopic analysis would not be viable. A situation could exist within a spacecraft necessitating a rapid in situ medical diagnosis on a crewmember in determining whether an infection is present, conducting a white blood cell count, determining blood platelet concentration, and monitoring the effects of solar particle events as it applies to hematological disturbances. To express interest in this opportunity, please submit a license application through NASAs Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) by visiting https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/MSC-TOPS-132 If you have any questions, please e-mail NASAs Technology Transfer Program at Agency-Patent-Licensing@mail.nasa.gov with the title of this Technology Transfer Opportunity as listed in this SAM.gov notice and your preferred contact information. For more information about licensing other NASA-developed technologies, please visit the NASA Technology Transfer Portal at https://technology.nasa.gov/ These responses are provided to members of NASAs Technology Transfer Program for the purpose of promoting public awareness of NASA-developed technology products, and conducting preliminary market research to determine public interest in and potential for future licensing opportunities. No follow-on procurement is expected to result from responses to this Notice.

Value counts single-winner awards. "Shared" awards are multiple-award contracts that list every winner with the same total ceiling; that ceiling is not one company's win, so it is not added in. Revenue next to a ticker is the company's last annual revenue from its 10-K.

Investor context
  • $AMTM reported $7.9B revenue in FY2025. The median single-winner award in these 157 past awards, $14.0M, is 0.2% of that. 10-K

One award's total value against one year of revenue; many awards are paid over several years.

Latest awards

Materiality: one award's value as a share of the winner's revenue over the latest 12 months in its SEC filings (or its last fiscal year, as noted when you point at it). Low under 1%, Medium 1 to 5%, High 5% or more. Many awards are paid over several years, so this overstates a single year's share.

Competitive landscape

For the 8 most frequent past winners above. Lobbying is matched by the company's exact name or exact ticker; agencies are as named on the filings.

  • 2 of these past winners lobbied Natl Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) since 2024 (11 filings)
  • 0 of their lobbyists list a past Natl Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) job
  • $46K from their corporate PACs since 2024 to members of House Committee on Appropriations, House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation
  • 0 foreign-agent (FARA) registrations

Market

For past winners matched exactly to a listed company. Insider trades are open-market buys and sells (Form 4) in the last 90 days, shown as facts; our own study found insiders do not reliably buy ahead of awards. A sale marked 10b5-1 was made under a trading plan set up in advance.
