About the Product
Is this insider trading data?
No. Every piece of data on HillSignal comes from official, publicly available U.S. government sources — specifically Congress.gov (bills and legislation) and USAspending.gov (federal contract awards). This is the same information anyone can access. The difference is that we aggregate it, analyze it with AI, and deliver it to you daily with specific stock tickers and market impact analysis — something that would take hours to do manually.
How is this different from just reading Congress.gov?
Congress.gov publishes thousands of bills. Most have zero market impact. HillSignal filters the noise — we analyze each bill and contract for which publicly traded companies are affected, what sectors are impacted, whether the sentiment is bullish or bearish, and how significant the market impact is likely to be (scored 1-10). You get the 5-10 signals that actually matter to investors, not the 500 that don't.
What exactly do I get with HillSignal?
A free account gets you the signal feed in real time on a rolling 7-day window, AI-generated market analysis on each signal (affected tickers, sector impact, sentiment, key takeaways), sector filtering and the sector rotation boards, 5 daily questions to the AI Intel Assistant, 2 research briefcases, and the digest email. A large part of the site — individual signal pages, ticker pages, politician profiles, bill breakdowns and the congressional trade ledger — needs no account at all. Pro ($99/mo, or $79/mo billed annually) opens the full archive, adds high-impact email alerts, the Pro Terminal workspace, causal flow maps, and uncapped AI queries.
How often is the data updated?
Polling cadence depends on the source: congressional trades and market news every 15 minutes, bills, contract awards and committee calendars every 30 minutes, SEC filings and executive orders hourly, and the Federal Register twice a day. AI enrichment and impact scoring then run as batch passes four times daily, so a new filing typically becomes a fully decoded signal within a few hours of publication. You also receive a curated digest email summarizing the most impactful signals.

Paid Pro exists for people who need full history, email alerts, the Pro Terminal and flow maps.
Do I need to enter a credit card to sign up?
No. Just create an account with your email and you're in. No credit card, no trial period, no hidden fees. A card is only involved if you choose to upgrade to Pro, and you can cancel yourself from the Stripe billing portal at any time.

How accurate is the AI analysis?
The AI identifies affected companies and sectors based on the text of bills and contract descriptions. It's generally strong at identifying obvious connections (e.g., a defense contract mentioning Lockheed Martin → $LMT) but may miss nuanced secondary effects. We score each signal's market impact 1-10 to help you prioritize. We recommend using HillSignal as a starting point for research, not as a sole decision-making tool.
